The Main Content Of Marketing

Marketing is a widely used term to define the means of communication between a company and the consumer audience. and it is the version of the commercial activities and use of organizations by the groups with a purpose to make communication change on a short-range or enduring basis.

In marketing, the techniques used include choosing target markets through market examination, as well as using specific methods to have an effect on consumer conduct. Marketing planning involves the creation of strategies for the company to place advertising that reaches the buyer.

From a common point of view, marketing provides the link between a society's material requirements and its economic patterns. The goal of marketing is to please the needs of consumers through the building of long-term relations.

In the case of nonprofit group marketing, the goal is to represent the philosophy and message of the organization in order to promote their services to the appropriate audience. Governments often fund the marketing of messages with a social purpose that are made for citizens, such as a public health or safety messages.

Marketing With Google AdWords

As technology advances, people are spending more and and more time online. For this reason, businesses must promote themselves online as well. In order to succeed as a business in current times, you need to go with the crowd, and the crowd is on the internet. Businesses are finding much success in advertising their companies online. One of the many reliable forms of online marketing is the use of Google AdWords. AdWords is a form of marketing where the advertiser chooses keywords for their advertisement to be linked to and seen by web users. The advertiser bids on the keywords in order for their advertisement to be linked to them on Google, and the goal is that the keywords chosen will attract the business’s target audience.
AdWords has become one of Google’s largest sources of revenue, and one of the best online marketing techniques to increase the revenue of your own business. One great thing about using AdWords is that a business doesn’t need to worry about going over their advertising budget. Businesses have the option to set a limit on the budget for their AdWords advertising campaign. For this reason, AdWords are a very strong option for online advertising campaigns. My father works in advertising, and one of his responsibilities is to place Google AdWords for his clients. He knows from experience that AdWords are often very successful in marketing  a business, and he also knows that it is necessary in order to compete with other businesses. So many businesses are using AdWords now that not doing so is simply a bad marketing decision.

Quarterback That Glock Cam Newton You Catch a Hot One

I just love rapper beef. Pac and Big, Ye and Wiz, and of course Meek and Drake. I appreciate watching these disgustingly rich entertainers go at it on twitter, and the impending backlash by supporters and opposers alike. It's an excuse for me to argue with people about who won and I can laugh at the funny memes generated around Kanye West's apparent love for things in his butt. What I really appreciate about these happenings though, is the incredible timing and delivery of these brilliantly executed marketing devices. That's right, and I'm going out on a limb by saying I'm one of few millennials that sees through the hype for what it is. But I'm writing this today in order to enlighten you so stay tuned!

Let's take it back to Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West's recent debacle on Twitter. Kanye, whose activity on twitter had spiked significantly in the past couple of weeks, saw a tweet on his feed from Mr. Khalifa. Khalifa posted, "Hit this KK and become yourself," and I
know what you're thinking, what does that even mean? Well I'll tell you...what he was referring to when he says "KK" because the actual tweet makes no sense regardless. "KK" or "Khalifa Kush" is Wiz's own strain of Marijuana, which he was talking about smoking and then metaphysically becoming oneself as a symptom of it. To probably no one's surprise, Kanye "I ran up and stole the mic out of Taylor Swift's hand at the VMAs" West thought Wiz was somehow referring to his wife, Kim Kardashian; and nobody disrespects Kanye's woman. So Yeezus, in the way Yeezus would, started tweeting up a storm about how Wiz is inferior to him and should not disrespect the greatest man in rap. Well Wiz Khalifa corrected him, Amber Rose tweeted about Kanye liking butt stuff, and the man himself effectively lost the battle. Effectively, Mr. West apologized publicly an deleted his outrageous posts, Amber Rose uploaded a picture with Kim Kardashian, and they all lived happily ever after.

When you look at underlying factors of the recent beef though, you begin to see why this might as well have been an elaborate scripted commercial. As I mentioned earlier, Kanye had recently been tweeting more often. This is because he's been hyping his album up before its release on February 11th. Is it just by happenstance that Wiz was also set to drop an album one week before the fight happened? What these two men just did was bring themselves back in to the public eye in an engaging way. And by doing so they got to "inadvertently" advertise their upcoming albums on twitter by bringing them up in the middle of the argument. Not only that, but Wiz Khalifa came out on top. Makes sense strategically since his album dropped a week before Kanye's, and you don't want everyone to think you're a loser right before your album drops. Isn't it brilliant? I didn't even know Wiz Khalifa was dropping a new album until this happened. Imagine if one out of every thousand people who saw the argument found out about Wiz's album through it and bought it. That's a six figure increase in sales at the least, and they didn't even have to pay for the advertising! Rapper beef is just indirect marketing at its finest, and it shows how proper timing and execution can play a huge role in it.

Prompt #2: Defining Ethics

In the field of marketing, ethics can definitely be a gray area. The goal is to convince the consumer to buy the product, but some companies can be guilty of not being completely truthful in their advertising. According to the American Marketing Association, the moral code of ethics that all marketers should strive to follow includes four main points:
  • Strive to be truthful in all situations and at all times.
  • Offer products of value that do what we claim in our communications.
  • Stand behind our products if they fail to deliver their claimed benefits.
  • Honor our explicit and implicit commitments and promises.
As a marketer, it is crucial to always be truthful in your advertising, and not to exaggerate your product’s capabilities just to make a sale. Companies that do so lose their credibility and end up with very unhappy customers.

Truthfully, I feel like some companies do not follow this code of ethics very well. I don’t think that this meshes well with my moral code of ethics because honesty and helping others are both extremely important to me, so personally I would not want to be part of a team that is responsible for trying to sell people a product that I don’t believe in or a product that is unhealthy. In the future, I plan on working for a non-profit organization and doing marketing for their events. I think that this side of the profession will fit my morals well because it focuses on helping people in need and bringing the community together.

The expected moral guidelines for marketers are pretty well known, but some consumers may not see marketers as the most ethical people because companies usually don’t display the negatives to their product and may exaggerate the positives when advertising. This could give people in this profession a bad rep, but some might argue that they are simply doing their job.

The Face of Fast Food Advertisements

Who is the number one target audience for fast food restaurants? The answer is simple, kids. Fast food restaurants such as McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King, and Taco Bell all advertise to kids. They use things like toys and colorful packages to get the children to buy their product. The kids beg their parents to go to the fast food restaurant so they can get the new shiny toy.

Fast food restaurants have used the growth of technology as a way to trap kids into seeing their ads. Websites, apps, television commercials, and radio commercials are all used to market fast food to children. In 2012, $4.6 billion was spent on advertising fast food to kids (fastfoodmarketing.org).

Fast food has clearly found the key to marketing their food to children. However, they face a controversy with the parents of the children wishing for healthier options. In order to please both sides of the spectrum, fast food restaurants have started to introduce healthier side options like apples instead of french fries into their kids meals. With fast food ads now appealing to the kids and the parents, fast food advertising will begin to dominate the marketing world.

Indirect Marketing and What it Does for a Brand

Obviously in the business world, the idea behind marketing is to increase the awareness of your product(s) and make the masses more likely to give you their money in order to possess said product. But with the increased use of social networking, the idea of "going viral" becomes an extremely important and integral part of not only increasing your sales and recognition, but also creating a lasting appeal that solidifies your place in the market and keeps you from becoming another "one and done" company that everyone forgets about.

Enter indirect marketing. Instead of simply using direct marketing like commercials, billboards, and advertisements on the side of websites that are just going to disappear thanks to your ad blocker, companies can use indirect marketing as a subtle way to keep themselves relevant in the ocean of information that's provided to you. They might follow you on twitter in hopes for a follow back or send out newsletters that don't necessarily attempt to sell things to you. And if you can win over the hearts and minds of the young social-media-user, you may be looking at a pop culture level of fame and longevity in the market. The best part about this type of advertising is that it's free though, and the eventual conclusion to this sort of marketing yields an increase in sales and brand awareness without actually putting money in to anything!

Indirect marketing is a game changer in the field, and although you might come off as annoying when you're randomly following thousands of people on twitter, all you need is one person to follow you and buy your products in order for you to be in the black on this latest marketing ploy. That's the beauty of indirect marketing.

The 6 Parts Of Marketing

Marketing research mainly refers to the study of demographic factors. This includes social, economic, technical, environmental, and cultural impact on consumer demand and industrial products and services. It is important to develop appropriate policies and procedures to meet these requirements. As a separate discipline, it is a combination of marketing principles and marketing management. Marketing architecture is divided into the following sections:

1) The basic theory of marketing
2) Market research and analysis
3) Marketing Strategy
4) Marketing Tactic
5) Marketing organization and control
6)Application and innovation Marketing

From academic focus on business schools, we know that marketing research is done more often than not in order to study business (such as investigative techniques or negotiation skills), and to focus on developing an advanced way of thinking. This includes a wide range of perspective and targeted judgment.
